Housewarming Party

Since moving downtown by the harbourfront, putting together a housewarming party was challenging.

Cleaning up the House:

  • Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping all floors (in that order)
  • Washing all linens
  • Dusting and cleaning all household and table surfaces
  • Removing and organizing any remaining boxes
  • Kitchen: Good oven scrub (with oven cleaner), clean dishwasher
  • Clean Bathrooms
  • Empty waste bins

Food Preparation:

Getting a Pinterest board up and pinning potential ideas and recipes are very helpful. I planned for some appetizers and desserts:

Appetizers and Desserts:

Appetizers for the party:

(1) Provincial Tomatoes; (2) Bagel Bites with cream cheese, smoked salmon and dried parsley; (3) Baked Cheesecake with homemade strawberry topping; (4) Red Velvet Cupcakes

Theme

A simple colour theme I chose for the day was "Orange and Teal":

It was simple to get some supplies from my local Dollar Store to add accents to the event.

Games

Apart from having guests come and mingle, with wine, a traditional game I put together is usually Jeopardy. I use Powerpoint to create the Jeopardy game, and use an HDMI cable to hook it up to the TV.
