The Cocktail Dress: Inspiration

I'll be attending a friend's wedding reception this Saturday and its an entirely outdoors, complete with Gazebo. The weather however is going to be super cold AND no stilettos for grass.

The most appropriate dress for guests at a wedding reception is probably a cocktail dress or formal dress. You can get away with a more casual dress if you are not part of immediate family or the wedding party. Or if you are not the MC or making a speech during the reception.

What is a cocktail dress?

It's a semi-formal dress that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion and the season. Pair it with a shawl when it gets too cold or go sleeveless to show a bit more skin.
